2 columns have same data:Sort column E, but column A changes as we

[Compound - problem]
Column A goes down from A to E, ok? Column B has set of 5 random numbers:
17, 2, 43, 26, 9. Now, copy both column's information - A&B (letters &
numbers).

Let's copy to columns E & F... ok? Same order of information is now pasted
into column E & F. Is it clear what I want? I want to sort E & F to bring the
numbers into a Hi - Lo. Click sort, done. What happens column E & F do
change... as well as Columns A & B.
In short 2(two) columns have the same information: Col/A&B & Col/E/F... same.

Summary - my friend did what I want on "mobile excel". He highlighted E &
F... click sort. Column A & B... did not change. CAN THIS SORT BE DONE WITH
EXCEL 2007?

Boy, can this be done?

Do what your friend did. Select columns E and F, then sort.

Sort will sort the cells you have selected. If you haven't selected any, it
will choose the cells based on its best guess as to what you want. In your
case, it guessed all columns. If that's not what you want, just tell it what
you do.

Regards,
Fred.
