Not even sure this is possible.
ok, what i am trying to do is to search a list of product codes looking for
duplicate codes. where a duplicate code is found i would like it to add the product quantity together. if there is four duplicate codes in the list to add all four together, then to put the code and the total product quantity into a new cell. it is important that i would like this to be automated and that i will not know what im searching for. i.e. if the list contains a1, a2, a3, a4, a3, a5, a1, a5 then i would like it to automatically produce a list of the total sums of all A1's A2's A3's A4's and A5's i hope this makes sense. like i said in the title im not sure if it is possible to do this without having something you are actually seraching for. well hope to hear back form anyone that might be able to help many thanks in advance fraser |

You'll find info at 'this site' (http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Pivots/pivotstart.htm) another one, after sorting your codes would be the SUBTOTAL function -- Pecoflyer Cheers - *'Membership is free' (http://www.thecodecage.com)* & allows file upload -faster and better answers *Adding your XL version* to your post helps finding solution faster ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pecoflyer's Profile: http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/member.php?userid=14 View this thread: http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/sh...ad.php?t=63918 |
