Default Timesheet function in Excel

Is there a function in Excel to calculate time like on a timesheet for
payroll purposes? I don't want to buy special software to do this and I'd
rather not have manual processes.

If you set it up correctly, time calculates with simple additions and
subtraction. Try this web site for some general information.

In particular, the link to Chip Pearson's site is very useful to help
understand how time and dates are stored.

Have a look at Chip Pearson's site for example sheet.

Also check out the Templates at the template gallery.
