Default work sheet

When entering a 16 digit account number, the cell is replacing my last number
with a zero.
Can anyone help with this?

Default work sheet

Format the cell as Text, or prefix the number with an apostrophe (').

XL's specifications allow 15 digits of decimal precision, which is why
the 16th digit is truncated.

Most of the time, people enter 16 digit number for credit cards, which
don't need math done on them.

If you do need to do math with 16 digit numbers, you'd be better off
with a different application.
