One of our operatives would like to add comments to onlocked cells within a
protected spreadsheet is this possible? |

Yes if you have Excel 2002 or newer.
ToolsProtectionProtect WorksheetAllow users to: Checkmark "edit objects" That will allow users to enter Comments in any cell, not just unlocked cells, so best to disallow "select locked cells" also. xl2k (and before) has 3 options on that protection dialog.
One of them does the same as as the "edit objects"--maybe it's even named the same???? Gord Dibben wrote: Yes if you have Excel 2002 or newer. Ps. But xl2k and before doesn't have that option (in the user interface) to
