I am having trouble with a pivot table. Two entries in my source data
display in the pivot table with the numeral 2 appended to the end. This particular data is city names and one of the offending entries is for La Crescenta, but the table insists on displaying it as La Crescenta2. I have deleted the source and retyped the entry but after refreshing the 2 is still present. I have entered other data into the cell and it tables correctly. I have entered LaCrescenta (without the space) and the table displays La Crescenta (with the space) but without the 2. I entered the name in lower cases without the space and get it back capitalized with the space but without the 2. The other entry is Hilton Head Island and it behave the same way. I've searched for similar problems and only encountered one which suggested rebuilding the entire spread sheet as a work around. Any other solutions or ideas on why this happens? -- BNS |

Have you checked your Autocorrect list?

Sorry BNS, have re-read your message - my initial repsonse was not likely to
be of any use; autocorrect would change the data in the source. Roger "bignosesurfer" wrote in message ... I am having trouble with a pivot table. Bob,.
Thanks for the response. I've looked and there isn't anything in the autocorrect related to this entry. Entering the data is not the problem. My data is list is as it should be, it is only what pivot table does with the data this is the problem. -- BNS "Bob Alhat" wrote: Have you checked your Autocorrect list? In your source data, is there a field named Cities, and La Crescenta is
an item in that column, along with other city names? In the pivot table, remove the Cities field. If there are any other pivot tables based on the same source data, remove the Cities field from them too. Then, refresh the pivot table. Add the Cities field to the pivot table. Do the city names appear correctly? bignosesurfer wrote: I am having trouble with a pivot table. Two entries in my source data display in the pivot table with the numeral 2 appended to the end.
