Default cell reference syntax

Excel 2007 recently changed cell reference from =SUM( A1:A10) to
=SUM(R[-10]C:R[-1]C). Don't know why it changed.
How do I get back to original format?

Thanks for any input.

Default cell reference syntax

In your options in the General Tab, the R1C1 reference style should not have
a check mark.

Thanks, that led me to the switch.
No "General" tab but a right click on the menu bar and select Customize then
Formulas got me there.
