My file has columns till DR. I have a spilt in the sheet at AP13.I am using
'Sort ascending' from the auto filter at CQ to sort the my file but my sort
selection is not expanding to entire columns. Column A-AP are not getting

Excel is not smart enough, its use the current region.
You need to manually select the table and then do the sorting

cheers

Even if I manually slect the entire data, when I sort it reduces the
expansion, selects only the coulmns I mentioned below!!

Have you attempted selecting the entire spreadsheet prior to sort? A split
only shows the view differently. It would have no impact on sorting.

I tried to sleect the entire Sheet and then sort but still the sort for some
reason restricts itself to just a few columns!!
The sort used to work fine until today, when I added 30 new columns in the
middle of the sheet. Has that got something to do with it? Is there a column
limit to sorting?
