the week AS WELL as the date?

Yes, there is a function in Excel that can increment the days of the week as well as the date. You can use the "WEEKDAY" function to achieve this.

To increment the days of the week along with the date, follow these steps:

1. Enter the starting date in a cell, for example, A1.
2. In the cell next to it, enter the formula
   Formula:

   "=A1+1" 

   . This will add one day to the date in cell A1.
3. To display the day of the week along with the date, use the "TEXT" function. For example, in cell C1, enter the formula
   Formula:

   "=TEXT(A1,"dddd mmm d, yyyy")" 

   . This will display the date in the format "Monday Aug 1, 2009".
4. In the cell next to it, enter the formula
   Formula:

   "=C1+1" 

   . This will add one day to the date in cell C1 and display the next day of the week.

To increment only the days of the week, follow these steps:

1. Enter the starting day of the week in a cell, for example, A1.
2. In the cell next to it, enter the formula
   Formula:

   "=A1+1" 

   . This will add one day to the day of the week in cell A1.
3. To display the day of the week, use the "TEXT" function. For example, in cell C1, enter the formula
   Formula:

   "=TEXT(A1,"dddd")" 

   . This will display the day of the week in the format "Monday".
4. In the cell next to it, enter the formula
   Formula:

   "=C1+1" 

   . This will add one day to the day of the week in cell C1 and display the next day of the week.

Note that the "WEEKDAY" function can also be used to determine the day of the week for a given date.

Something like entering the following formula into cell A1.

A1:
=TEXT("Jul 31, 2009"+ROW(),"dddd mmm d, yyyy")

Then fill A1 down into A2:A30 or so.

You could also avoid using a formula by putting your date into a cell,
copying it down and then Custom Formatting the cells with this...

dddd, mmm d, yyyy

or any other formatting pattern of your choice.

For just the days of the week...

You can enter Monday in the first cell then just drag down and Excel will
increment them.

If you want a formula:

=TEXT(ROWS(A$1:A2),"dddd")

Copy down

For the days and the date, it depends on what dates you want.

Hi,

1. enter the first date
2. format it to dddd mmm d, yyyy custom format - choose Format, Cells,
Number tab, Custom, and enter the above codes in the Type box, click OK.
3. Drag the fill handle down - the bottom right corner square on the cell
with the date.

If you only want weekdays -
4. Open the paste options drops down (small clipboard icon at the bottom
left of the filled range), and choose Weekdays
