Default Formatting problem

Yesterday i work on numerous spreadsheets. I used the format "Accounting"
zero decimal places on the numbers. Today when I opened up these worksheets
all formats have been changed to "Custom". When I try to change it back to
Accounting with no decimal places it brings back the message "Enter A
Different Value" Your entry cannot be used. Try entering an interger or
decimal number. What caused this? How do I change them back to Accounting
with no decimal places?
