I Changed and converted my Lotus 123 program and files to Excel some years
back; however, I do run into (floppy) that have not been converted.

Is there any conversion steps available via Excel that would allow opening
these files in Excel without the Lotus 123 program?

Hi
Excel will open Lotus 123 files for you. Just select the file type in the
Open dialog box.

I had the same problem but had to get a copy of Lotus off of ebay
(about $15). As it turned out, I had to keep it installed because
some Lotus workbooks had so many links to other workbooks the cell
formulas wouldn't convert - in fact, they wouldn't even convert to
newer versions of Lotus 1-2-3!!! (the formula was too long).

It seems Lotus isn't too kind about updating the file path when the
workbooks are moved making a transfer to the network impossible. I
just keep the files on my local drive and copy them to the network as
backup whenever there are changes.

Ah, well. At least they were well written and still work.
