Default Calculating differences between dates

Can someone tell me what formula to use to calculate the difference between
two dates.
For example one date being 11/1/1987 and the other date being current.

Thank you,

Alison

1/ cell A1 contains the date you wanted
2/ cell b1 contains =TODAY() - must be depending on your language (for me
it's AUJOURD'HUI () )
3/ cell c1 =b1-a1 returns a number of days. You could use for A1 and b1 a
standard format instead of Date format . this will returns a serial number
instead of the 'readable date'
