I am new to Excel and know a little, but I cant figure out conditional
formatting. Im doing a worksheet for my job and I need a group of cells in a row to change colors based on what is entered in a certain cell. For example: Cell A1 has a drop down list contatining X & N/A If N/A is selected from that list I want cell A1 and about 4 or 5 cells next to it on the same row to turn gray. This could also include not only the 4 or 5 cells next to A1 but possibly the row below that. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it? |

You need to be *specific* about which cells you want this to apply to.
Let's assume this applies to cells A1:E1 For Excel versions prior to Excel 2007: Select the range A1:E1 Goto the menu FormatConditional Formatting Select the Formula Is option Enter this formula in the little box on the right: =$A1="N/A" Click the Format button Select the desired style(s) OK out -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "BigDreams7433" wrote in message ...
