Default Data validation not showing drop down

I have named a range in a different sheet in an Excel 2002 multi sheet
spreadsheet.
The same named range is working perfectly well in other sheets using the
same instruction.
All objects are visible.
Freeze panes is not on.
And i really really really don't want to rebuild the same spreadsheet as it
is quite quite complex.

Can anyone puhleeeeeze help me?
