I need to be able to sort (A-Z, Z-A) in a sheet some of the cells in which
have been locked. Is there a way? -- Ken Curtis |

Yes, Ian, unlocking the sheet is no problem.

Hi Ken
If you can unprotect the sheet, you should be able to sort the dat, then lock the sheet again. I'm not sure what happens with the locked cells, though. That is, I'm not sure whether the locking stays with the cell reference or the data. Try it on a copy of your worksheet first, just in case. -- Ian -- "Ken Curtis" wrote in message ... Which will allow sorting only on a contiguous range of unlocked cells.
Say A1:F30 are unlocked, you could sort that range. If even one cell within that range was locked, sort would not be possible.
