It sounds like the cell is formatted as TEXT. Format the cell as General
then either type the formula or, if it's already in the cell, select the cell and hit function key F2 then hit ENTER. -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "lannyk" wrote in message ... Now however when I try to type the formula into a cell or edit it after I've copied it all I get is the formula displayed - not the result. Help, LK |
