Default pivot tables

I want to display headings for data even when there is no data within the
field. There is a check box that is displayed when double clicking on the
coloumn heading that says "show items with no data" but it is greyed out. Can
anyone tell me how to get this function working?

I've been looking for a solution to this too and found the answer from
this 2006 post:

I haven't tried it out yet know, so let us know if it works for you.
