Default Can't add a column to a specific file

Everytime I try to insert a column to a specific worksheet, Excel shuts down
(Not responding). The file don't seem to be too big, nor is data taking up
the maximum rolls/columns allowed. Dont' know what to do and where to start.
Please help!

Thanks!

Here's where to start:
Copy your data from that file to a new, blank file and save it. Then
try to add the column to the new file.
