Move rows to columns
I have a large spreadsheet that has four columns. Whta this spreadsheet is
contains the number of customers in each area and each breakdown of the hour. What I have done is sorted by date and hour. What I would like to do is place the sum of the customers for each hour in a column. Is this possible? Customers Area Date Hour 38 01 01/01/05 3 85 02 01/01/05 3 33 03 01/01/05 3 18 04 01/01/05 3 28 05 01/01/05 3 48 06 01/01/05 3 14 07 01/01/05 3 47 08 01/01/05 3 29 09 01/01/05 3 9 22 01/01/05 3 13 23 01/01/05 3 18 24 01/01/05 3 9 25 01/01/05 3 103 01 01/01/05 4 168 02 01/01/05 4 109 03 01/01/05 4 62 04 01/01/05 4 76 05 01/01/05 4 163 06 01/01/05 4 54 07 01/01/05 4 148 08 01/01/05 4 89 09 01/01/05 4 29 22 01/01/05 4 58 23 01/01/05 4 57 24 01/01/05 4 24 25 01/01/05 4 73 01 01/01/05 5 144 02 01/01/05 5 80 03 01/01/05 5 55 04 01/01/05 5 62 05 01/01/05 5 130 06 01/01/05 5 Date 3:00 4:00 5:00 6:00 7:00 8:00 9:00 10:00 11:00 12:00 1:00 2:00 3:00 4:00 03/20/05 227 669 502 527 714 1105 1450 1747 2141 2265 2563 2648 2730 2729 |

You can do this pretty quickly with a Pivot Table. In the
layout section, drag the "Hour" field to the ROW area, and the "Customers" field to the DATA area. Double-click the "Customers" and change it to "Sum of Customers". To understand what I'm talking about, see these Pivot Table tutorials: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/pivots.htm http://it.fuqua.duke.edu/public/2001...leIntroduction http://edferrero.m6.net/Pivot.html --- HTH Jason Atlanta, GA -----Original Message----- I have a large spreadsheet that has four columns.
