Default Merged Cell Row Height

I have separate worksheets in one file and descriptions typed in separate
rows in one column on the main one. These descriptions replicate to other
(merged) columns in other worksheets but the lines do not automatically
change to suit the height of the text.

I have searched through the discussion group but only found replies to do
with macros. I do not have a clue how to use it.

I could maybe email somebody an example of what I mean if that wasn't clear
enough.

Can anybody help me please?

Excel has a problem auto-fitting merged cells.

You can resize manually or via Macro. Jim Rech has written
code for this.

Also revised code for special cases.

The best cure is DON"T USE MERGED CELLS. They cause no end of problems with
copying, pasting, sorting, filtering.
