I am looking for a formula that will produce negative time durations...

Default formula for negative time durations

If you switch over to the 1904 date system (Tools | Options |
Calculation tab) then you can represent negative times. Be wary,
though, that this can mess up dates within your workbook if they were
entered in the default 1900 system.
