I have a shared workbook. It is not password protected, but is locked. How

Do you mean that a worksheet is protected or that the workbook is protected (via
tools|protection)? If yes, then look in Excel's help for "Features that are unavailable in shared workbooks", you'll see a big old list. One of them is that you can can't change the protection of a worksheet/workbook in a shared workbook. You'll have to unshare the workbook. Mellissa wrote: I have a shared workbook.
