Why is it so difficult to use Vlookup!!!
I need to vlooup between two excel files in two different places on our corp. network. The column having the Vlookup value is formatted as a "general" number (e.g. 10001). The first column of the index array is formatted as a "general number" (e.g. 10001). (Just to make sure I copied and pasted this again as a value in a new column to make sure it was formatted correctly).( I also tried it as a text, as a custom number, as a currency, as a - you name it - format.) I have spent have my life at this job trying to make Vlookup work - for so many different applications. At the moment I hate Vlookup! (Also there is no tool for auditing, or debugging the function when you are working with different Excel files.) Help! - Cathy |
