Hi,
Suppose your data is in cells A1:B4, one way is to highlight the rows 2:4 and choose the command Data, Group and Outline, Group. Then you can collapse and expand using the +/- signs that will appear to the left of the column letters. An other alternative is to use AutoFilter. Select the same range as above and choose the command Data, Filter, Auto Filter. Then open up the dropdown in column A (I am assuming the title Country is in column A) and choose Custom and from the first drop down pick Contains and in the box to the right enter 1 and click OK. This will hide all the entries. To redisplay them open the same drop down and choose All. You can also do this with a pivot table, but that's a little overkill here. -- Cheers, Shane Devenshire "Eliz" wrote: How do i collapse and expand data without adding or doing any mathematical formulae? for example: - Countries Nigeria 10 England 20 US 30 Collaspe into: + Countries |
