Using names, and related information, in a Pivot Table?
I am trying to arrange several tasks that are assigned to a few names on a
SS. I thought a Pivot Table would be great for this, since PTs handle duplicates so nicely. I have used PTs many times in the past, but I cant remember ever using text in a PT. Can this be done or not? Let's say Sam Smith is responsible for the following: Life operations Foreign General operations Consumer Finance operations I wanted to see something like this: Sam Smith Life operations Foreign General operations Consumer Finance operations Etc........ Can anyone recommend a viable alternative? |

RyGuy, Pivot Tables work great with text. It is all about the format of the
Data Table that the Pivot Table is based on. The spreadsheet should look something like this: ColA ColB Sam Smith LifeOperations Sam Smith Foreign General operations John Smith Finance Then add colB to the pivot table as the data and Col A as the Row Field. -- Charles Chickering "A good example is twice the value of good advice." After many futile attempts, I just double-clicked on the items in Col B and
