Default VLOOKUP - Allowable Number Sequence

The following is an example of the numbering format that I am using to
identify items and retrieve data in another worksheet using the VLOOKUP
function. One reason that the number sequence is not working may be related
to the gaps between each number. Or is it a limitation in the VLOOKUP program
to use the number of decimal places that I am using? Any help with an
explanation and a solution would be appreciated. Thank You, JAD

There's no limitation particular to the command, such as you posit.

Without knowing what "is not working" means, and with the paucity of
information you supply, it's difficult to give you a solution.

Some likely explanations include
using the wrong formula
mismatch between TEXT and NUMBER items
if one or the other of your lookup_value or values in the table_array
are being computed, what you see in the display may not be the actual result
that is stored.
etc.
