Hello. One method
.....=COUNTIF(Range,"S")+COUNTIF(Range,"I")+COUNTI F(Range,"R") "Range" is the
cluster of cells from which you need to pluck the count.

Another option is:

=SUM(COUNTIF(A1:A100,{"S","I","R"}))
