Default when I drag a formula to other cells the reference is the same

Normally when i drag a formula by clicking the mouse and dragging the formula
to fill other cells the cell reference changes as intended - for some reason
when I drag the formula to the right the cells reference does not change - it
is staying the same - I am not using the $

Are you sure you've got a formula, and not text?
