Default Repeat symbol in a cell??

I want to repeat the same symbol to fill a cell, I know there is a simple
keystroke for this but I have forgotten it.

Example: I want ***'s to fill the cell across.

Anyone have an idea of how to do this?

Default Repeat symbol in a cell??

Custom format as
##**
for 99**********

or ##*-

37----------

Note that it only works with numbers not text.

First, go to Tools/Options/Transition and make sure you have checked the
transition navigation keys box. Then just enter \ and whatever symbol you
want to appear in that cell. Example: \* returns *********** (or however
many it takes to fill your column based on the width.)

Good luck!

One more........

FormatCellAlignmentHorizontalFill.

If you want the asterisks to be leaders like text******** you could format
the cell to Custom @**
