Default Conditional formatting changing relative when copied to other cell

How can I change the comparison formula for each cell the condition is
applied to. Example: B2<(E2)+(F2), I need to copy the condition to other
cells but to change relative to the cell location, B3<(E3)+(F3) and so on
down the column? I have tried this with and without the $ anchor, as well as
with and without the cell reference in the formula (B2 or B3 as used here)
but it does not seem to work. At one point the formula would change when
copied to other cells, but it was comparing the previous row's cells
[B4<(E3)+(F3)] and I don't know why or how this happened. Ideas?

Robin

Two methods............

1. Select all the cells to be formatted then enter the formula =B2<(E2+F2)

Make sure Excel doesn't try to help by making the formula absolute......adding $
signs when you don't need them.

2. Select one cell and enter the formula then use the Format Painter to paint
the other cells with that cormat.
