Default Updating Old Workbooks

Okay... A bit complicated (at least for me), but hopefully someone can
help.I'm running excel 2002 SP3 on Windows XP.

I have many (two hundred plus) older workbooks that I've used to
generate quotes for customers. Each of these workbooks has a sheet
named "quote" in it. The "quote" sheet has hundreds (around 400 I
think) of long formulas in adjacent and non adjacent cells. Some of
these formulas contain references to cells on a different sheet in the
workbook.

Also, the quote sheet and the formulas on it are the same in each
workbook, but in some of the workbooks the quote sheet might have rows
and/or columns hidden which also contain formulas that need to be
updated.

We have a blank template workbook which we use to generate all of these
other workbooks and within that one there is also, of course, a "quote"
sheet. The quote sheet in that template workbook has had all of it's
formulas updated to reflect a new method we are using to figure a
quote.

That's the backround. So now what we would like to do is open up an old
workbook, make a copy of the quote worksheet and save it for reference
within that workbook as "old quote", then update the original quote
sheet with the new formulas found in the cells of our template
workbook.
And we would like to do this with every workbook in the folder.
The cells containing the formulas are also protected so the sheet would
need to be unprotected before updating the formulas.

It would be ideal if the rows and columns that are hidden on the sheet
could remain hidden when it's updated.

Would it be possible to run a macro from the template workbook that
would accomplish this? If it's even possible, the code is definitely
beyond me.
Thanks much in advance for having the patience to even read this.
Paul
