Default Negative values in a formula

How do you enter a formula to add the value of cells in a column, but minus
negative values in the column?

Default Negative values in a formula

Do you mean that when you add the numbers you want to treat the negative
numbers as zero, or that you want to treat them as positive (and take the
absolute value)?
