Quote: "Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for
support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question." You may not be charged for it or even incur the use of an 'incident'. I recently called in to get a Hotfix for Excel 2007 and they did not charge me any $$ or even an incident use. What I did get was an email with a link and password for the download of the hotfix and stern warnings that I was pretty much on my own at that point since the hotfix "had not undergone strenuous testing". I first tested the hotfix in a VM and when it worked there, I then imaged the drive, just in case, and installed the hotfix to my live copy of Excel 2007 - worked just fine, both in the VM and real world. Does anyone know where I can download or install this component from without having to submit a $200 incident? Thanks in advance. |
