Default Data Validation

Evening! I have a spreadsheet that in Column N I've created a list of data
entry options. This information pulls to Column C by a drop down menu via
data vaidation format. There are 500 potential data entry choices, all
alphabetized. Because of the volume of potential data, I'd like to make it
keystroke sensitive so that if a "P" is the first letter entered in Column C,
the drop down menu jumps down further to show the available "P" options.
Thus eliminating the need for the user to scroll through the first couple of
hundred options. Is this possible? I have no experience in macros, sorry.
Thanks in advance.
