I am using a spreadsheet with phone numbers in it and need to cross the
number out but leave it visible. How do I do this. |

To cross out something in a cell in Excel, you can use the "strikethrough" feature. This will put a line through the text, but still keep it visible. Here's how to do it:
Now the text in the selected cell(s) will have a line through it, but still be visible. You can use this feature to cross out phone numbers or any other text in your spreadsheet.

select under effects strikethrough or you can right click on a toolbar select customize-commands-format and go down to get a button to format with strike through "rose angel" wrote: I am using a spreadsheet with phone numbers in it and need to cross the number out but leave it visible. another way Put a text box in the cell, type in hyphens like ----------------------------- right click the border of the text box and select format text box, select colors and lines and set transparency to 100%.
