Default COUNTIF

What is the formula (syntax) for counting multiple ranges? I have looked,
and suprisingly not found anything on it.

I am trying to find the number of occurences of a number 1 in ranges A1:c10
and G50:X60.

Thanks for any help

How about just adding two =countif()'s?

=countif(a1:c10,""&1) + countif(g50:x60,""&1)

Use 2 countifs, eg:
=COUNTIF(A1:C10,"1")+COUNTIF(G50:X60,"1")
