Default Pivot Table Issue

Any help with the following problem would be most appreciated:

When I Lay out the pivot table, I put:

"TRAILER #" in the row field, and it works fine.
"# of turns" in the Colum field, however When I drag the "# of turns" in
order to display the options "1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5", the options are displayed
as headers but the message "Drop data items here" displays.

If I drag the "# of turns" to the left, I will get "average of # of turns"
but, all the categories show up ("1 - 2 - 3 -4 -5") in one colum next to the
colum of "Trailer #". I won't get the display by days as headers that I want.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Add one copy of # of turns in the column area, and another copy in the
Data area. Then it will appear as headers, and and data.
