How do I format a date
05/30/07 into

Select the cell
press Ctrl-1 and choose the Number tab
in the left panel choose Date
in the right panel scroll select the format that looks like the style you want
click on OK

Hi Duke:
I did that and that format is not in the drop down. Any suggestions?

use this custom format in format-- cells--number, slect custom and then
type this in the box

dddd, dd mmm, yyyy

Then instead of Date choose Custom from the left panel, then in the Type box
enter

dddd, mmmm dd, yyyy
