lock a total row below a list & allow inserting in the list?
When I place a total row below, but outside of, a list and another
calculated row below that then lock and protect only the total and calculated rows, the insert function in the list goes away. I want to allow users to add new records to the list but not change the formulas in the two rows below the list. Is this possible? |

When protecting the sheet, check the option "Allow users to insert rows". I
think this option was introduced in Excel2003, so if you work with an earlier version you might be out of luck. Cheers, Joerg "Curious Consultant" <Curious wrote in message ... Thank you for your response. I have tried that and it did not help. It will
allow me to manually insert a row in the list but it does not restore the ability that the List Function normally provides where a new record line appears at the end of the list as it does in Access.
