Default Where is "Insert Name" on the menu bar?

I have been trying to delete a named range in Excel 2007.

An answer posted says:

From the Excel main menu:
<insert<name<define
Select the name to be deleted
Click the [delete] button

But I'm being stupid here and can't find the "name" under isert - must
belooking in the wrong place - can someone please point me in the right
direction.

Thanks

I don't have 2007 here, but I wonder if you have some down arrows at the
bottom of the insert line. If so, click on that. Name may be hidden to you.

There is a menu that runs horizontal across the top of the screen. One of
the items in this menu is "Insert". Click on that word. That produces a
drop-down menu. One of the items on that menu is "Name". Click on that
word. That produces another drop-down menu. One of the items on that menu
is "Define". Click on that word. A box appears that displays all the range
names in the file. Find the one you want to delete and click on that range
name. Then click the "Delete" button that is located in that box. HTH

I take back my response. I didn't read the "2007" in your post. These
things are not the same in 2007. Otto

Hi Chris

in XL2007, you need to go to the Formulas tabDefined Names sectionName
Manger
This will give you the opportunity to Create, Edit and Delete Named
ranges.

In addition to the specific answers above, here's a page at MSFT discussing
some of the location changes:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...860481033.aspx
at the bottom of that page is this link which is to a downloadable Excel
file that 'maps' older commands to their locations in 2007:

http://office.microsoft.com/search/r...1 00860481033

that may help with similar situations in the future.
