Default Filtering long text

I have tried to filter for words placed a long way out in a cell text. Excel
2003 do not find the filter (auto filter, custom, contains) word !
Is there a text length limitation for Excel to perform filtering ?
Any suggestion for workaround ?

Default Filtering long text

Create a helper column

In B1: =LEN(A1)

Drag the Fill Handle in cell B1 to copy down as far as needed, then cutom
AutoFilter in column B for your specific text length

Default Filtering long text

The problem is that the filter do not recognize/find the text after character
no 256(?)
Visibility of the text is not the problem.
Any advice ?
