Filtering long text
I have tried to filter for words placed a long way out in a cell text. Excel
2003 do not find the filter (auto filter, custom, contains) word ! Is there a text length limitation for Excel to perform filtering ? Any suggestion for workaround ? |

Filtering long text
Create a helper column
In B1: =LEN(A1) Drag the Fill Handle in cell B1 to copy down as far as needed, then cutom AutoFilter in column B for your specific text length "Havard" wrote: I have tried to filter for words placed a long way out in a cell text. Filtering long text
If the search text is located after the 255th character in the cell, it

Filtering long text
The problem is that the filter do not recognize/find the text after character
no 256(?) Visibility of the text is not the problem. Any advice ?
