Default Excel help please!

I'm not sure if this is possible. I've searched the books & online and can't
find my answer so here I am...
Here's the worksheet I have
Column A Column B Column C
Book P 55
Singing S 2
Program Y 18

What I want to happen is ..(I'm looking for the correct formula) ... if
column B is "P" then I want to sum up the corresponding cells in Column C.
Make sense? Please help .. I'm about to pull my hair out!
