Default received "a=formula" instead of =formula after exporting data - wh

I exported data into excel from an excel based report and instead of my
formulas coming over as 'noraml' ie =cell, it came over as "a=cell"

I simply replaced the "a=" with "=" and the formulas work so that is not a
problem. Just wanted to understand what the "a" means and why it happened.
