Default exporting to excel 2003

i'm trying to export data from a third party program which is microsoft
access based - when i export to excel 2003 i lose some of the information in
the cells, usually cells which have a few sentences in them. it seems as
though the cell is limiting the number of characters in the cell, but when i
open a new workbook i dont have a problem. its just the export from the
access based program to excel 2003. this issue doesnt happen on computers in
the office which have excel 2002.
i am running windows XP 2002 with SP2.

How are you 'exporting'? To a text file that you then pull into Excel? To
an Excel file?

Have you tried using Excel's menu option for Data-Import External Data?

Duke, there is actually a small button in the third party program that
exports to excel, which creates an xls file.
its only an issue on my computer, others in the office who have excel 2003
dont have this issue, its just my PC. I have installed all the updates, reset
my computer and still not working properly!
thanks!
