Excel function COUNTIF cannot count decimal number occurences in an array.
Why? What to do?

try something like:

=COUNTA(A1:A7)-COUNTIF(A1:A7,"-99^99")

where A1 thru A7 contain:
1
2
3
4
a
b
cd


will return 4 the number of numbers rather than text

Maybe you could just use:

=count(a1:a10)
to count the number of numbers.
