Default why does excel DELETE rows of data when removing subotals?

I have been using a spreadsheet for months and every month when I update I
add subtotals and distribute. To update for the new month I remove subtotals,
update data and re add the subtotals. However, this month when I remove the
subtotals all data is deleting except for data above the first subtotaled
line.

I am using Excel Professional Edition 2003 and am stumped.
Thank you.

nope, they literally all disappear below where the first subotatl was. All
of my other excel files with the same type of subtotaling work fine.
