Default Linking to another Excel Workbook

If I link a cell to another Excel Workbook will the value update, if I
don't actually open the source workbook also?

Thanks

When you reopen the workbook it will ask if you want to update the spreadsheet. If you choose yes it will update otherwise it won't.
