Default When I copy, I can not paste

I have a spreadsheet that was bought by someone online. It is protected ( i
can unprotect) and it has high secruity. ( and digitally signed or something)
There are things that are hidden that make other cells add, multiply.. etc.
So its tempremental on what we can add and delete.
My problem is.. All of a sudden when i highlight a couple cells and press
ctrl+c (or copy) and the cells are then highlighted..Once i click another
cell (where i want to paste) it automatically UN- CHECKS.. This is a big
problem because the whole reason for the sheet is to copy and paste the same
data.
We are also on a network. When i went on another persons network name on my
computer.. there Excel sheet was able to copy and paste just fine.(same file
on the network) But now all of a sudden, they cant do it either. THis is my
everyday work so i would appreciate some help asap!
