Default Populate a form

Hi,

I have to fill out several hundred forms with certain unformation, all the
forms are identical and have catagories. The information to be filled in is
contained in another worksheet, this information is in rows.
I have set up a filter in the forms worksheet hoping to paste the required
information in,one catagory at a time. However as the filtered information is
"hiding" other cells i am unable to do this.
So my question is ; Is there a way to paste into a filtered selection,if not
is there another way i can do this?

Sheet 1 FORMS

A B C
1 Name
2 Prod 1
3 date
4 address
5 size
6 weight

Sheet 2 DATA
A B C
1 Name John
2 Prod 1 Hammer
3 date june 1st
4 address London
5 size 1 mtr
6 weight 3Lb

Any help appreciated.

Doug

Do you have one form in sheet 1 and you want to fill the form with data from
sheet 2, then maybe print the form, then repeat the process with the next
row of data in sheet 2? What do you mean by "categories"? Post back and
provide more detail about what you have and what you want to do. Certainly
what you want to do can done with either formulas or VBA. HTH Otto

Default Populate a form

I have over 100 forms in one sheet,by catagories i mean row headers as in
sheet 1 below.I have put all the forms together on the spreadsheet so i can
create a filter, select "Name" for example,go to sheet 2 where all the names
are in a column ,copy them and paste into the filtered selection.Because
there are hidden rows in the filter ,i cannot paste.I have found a solution
which entails putting an "x" next to the filtered selection, undoing the
filter, sorting the x's ,copying the "names" next to the x's and then
re-sorting the forms. As each form requires me to take 5 pieces of information
from sheet 2 and insert into each form, this is quite time consuming, but much
quicker than copying and pasting each one.
I was trying to find an easier more reliable way.

I'm still not clear on what you are doing, but it appears that what you
want to do can be done best with VBA. It would be much clearer to me if I
could see your file or a like file. If you wish, email me your file or a
like file. Include a number of examples of what you want to happen, with a
clear explanation of where each value came from and the rational for getting
that value from that source. Make up data as you wish, I want only the
layout and samples of your data. Also tell me the version of Excel you are
using. My email address is . Remove the "nop" from
this address. HTH Otto
