Default EXCEL: MOD FUNCTION or DIVISION

HELLO,

I'M TRYING TO DIVIDE NUMBERS IN MY EXCEL WORKSHEET.
I HAVE A NUMBER IN CELL A1 [1000] AND IN CELL B1 IM TRYIN TO MAKE A FUNCTION
TO [DIVIDE A1 BY THE NUMBER 35].
SO BASICALLY I WANT 1000 DIVIDED BY 35...

I'VE TRIED " =MOD(A1,35) " BUT THE ANSWER IS WRONG
I ALSO TRIED " =MOD(1000,35) " AND THAT ANSWER WAS ALSO WRONG

HOW DO I GET A FUNCTION TO DIVIDE A CELL BY 35?
